Marjorie H. McNeill, PhD, RHIA, CCS, FAHIMA

Marjorie H. McNeill, PhD, RHIA, CCS, FAHIMA, obtained her B.S. degree in Medical Record Administration from the Medical College of Georgia, M.S. degree in Health Education from Florida State University, and PhD in Educational Leadership from Florida A&M University.  She is also credentialed as a Certified Coding Specialist. Dr. McNeill’s experience in academics consists of 25 years as a health information management educator.  She also has nine years of management and consulting experience in various health care practice settings.   Her teaching interests are in the areas of department management, coding, legal aspects, and professional development.  Dr. McNeill has several educational publications to her credit, including research articles in Perspectives in Health Information Management, Journal of Allied Health, and Journal of the American Health Information Management Association.  She is an active member of the Northwest Florida Health Information Management Association, Florida Health Information Management Association, and American Health Information Management Association.  Dr. McNeill is the recipient of the Florida Health Information Management Association 2008 Distinguished Service Award and the 2010 Literary Award. She is a Fellow of the American Health Information Management Association.

Lauralyn K. Burke
, DrPH, RHIA, CHES, CHTS-IM

Lauralyn K. Burke, DrPH, RHIA, CHES, CHTS-IM, obtained her B.S. degree in Medical Record Administration from York College of Pennsylvania and M.S. degree in Community Health Education from West Virginia University.  Currently, she is pursuing a doctorate in public health at Florida A&M University.  Her research focus is hospital preparedness for catastrophic events and health information infrastructure.  She is also credentialed as a Certified Health Education Specialist and has worked in a variety of hospitals in management and consulting positions.  Ms. Burke areas of teaching include the electronic health record, quality management, and medical science.  She has published articles in the Journal of the American Health Information Management Association and is an active member of the Northwest Florida Health Information Management Association, Florida Health Information Management Association, and American Health Information Management Association.

Lon’Tejuana S. Cooper, PhD, MHA, RHIA, CPM

Lon'Tejuana S. Cooper, PhD, MHA, RHIA, CPM is a 1998 graduate of the Health Informatics and Information Management (Formerly Health Information Management) program at Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, Florida. She completed the Certified Public Manager’s program at Florida State University in 2002 and received her Master’s of Science degree in Healthcare Administration in 2004. She also completed the doctorate degree in Educational Leadership and Human Services also, at Florida A&M University in 2014. Dr. Cooper has co-authored the Health Law Chapter for the Professional Review Guide for the RHIA and RHIT Examinations since 2010. In addition, has published in the Journal of AHIMA and the Journal of Health Care Finance. Dr. Cooper has over nine years of teaching experience in academia, teaching foundations in health information management, legal aspects of health care documentation, and professional development. She has more than 8 years of experience in managing PHI in electronic format, and has developed policies and procedures on implementing HIPAA requirements, developed training modules for staff training, and designed HIPAA assessment tools. For the past nine years, Dr. Cooper has served as a faculty member in the Division of Health Informatics and Information Management at Florida A&M University.
