The Annual Florida A&M University (FAMU) Homecoming Health and Safety Day will be on Tuesday, October 15, in the Hansel Tookes Sr. Recreation Center from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
The event is open to the public, and it will offer an opportunity for students, faculty, staff, and citizens of Tallahassee to become informed and empowered to take charge of their health. Over 100 community partners have been invited to provide free health screenings for diabetes, blood pressure, osteoporosis, stroke, substance abuse and many more, and to share valuable health promotion and disease prevention information.
Vendors participating in the fair will include 2-1-1 Big Bend, Big Bend AHEC, Capital Regional Medical Center, DCF-Access, Florida Department of Highway Safety, New Leaf Market, Acupuncture Physician Suki Horne, Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare, Taoist Tai Chi Society of the USA, Inc. and United Healthcare.
Parking will be available at Bragg Memorial Stadium with a bus to transport participants to the event.
