The Foster-Tanner Fine Arts Gallery will present its spring fundraiser, “Trouvaille Art Auction,” on Saturday, March 30, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Professional auctioneer Joseph Kitka of Aaron Joseph & Company will lead the bidding for the auction. Tickets for the live auction are $5. This is an open auction.
Trouvaille is defined as a find or discovery of interest or value. The works up for bid are by reputable local, national and international artists, which were selected by the FAMU art faculty. The “Trouvaille Art Auction” benefits the Foster-Tanner Fine Arts Gallery with operational funding to provide compelling exhibitions and educational programming for the community. Part of the proceeds will also benefit the Art Scholarship Fund, which helps current FAMU art students purchase art supplies and supplements tuition for deserve students.
Sponsors of the auction include the following: the Utrecht Art Supply, FAMU’s Office of University Advancement, the FAMU Department of Music, FAMU’s Foundation, Aaron Joseph & Co. Auctioneers, FASTSIGNS® and FAMU’s Center for Viticultural Science and Small Fruit.
A special raffle of gift baskets is planned as well as jazz entertainment by the FAMU Department of Music.
