FAMU Lyceum Series Program will present the
Highwaymen Artists exhibition beginning Friday, February 5, 2010.

An opening reception is scheduled for February 5, at 5:30 p.m. in the Foster Tanner Art Gallery followed by a lecture/panel discussion at 7:30 p.m. The exhibition will culminate with a closing reception on Sunday, February 28, at 4:30 p.m. in the Foster Tanner Art Gallery.
The featured artists include Curtis Arnett, Robert Butler, Willie Reagan and Mary Ann Carroll. Their artwork also will be available for purchase. They are four of 26 who identify themselves as the Highwaymen.

The artists are a group of African Americans who supported their families by selling their artwork along the highways of Florida, largely from the trunk of their cars. The dream of this group is to preserve the history of their lives and to give back to their communities.
The general public is invited to each event.
