Dr. Chris Mortensen is a member of a cadre of faculty in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences,

University of Florida, known as the Roche Teaching Fellows who are experimenting with innovative

teaching methods in the classroom. He is also a member of the Quality Assurance Committee for Online

Education and Creative Campus committees, including two committees on teaching innovation. He will

discuss two of the strategies: the “flipped classroom” and “gamification” as well as current technologies

that are available to accomplish them, including strategies to develop online courses, during the
