TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – A special “Election Edition” of the annual Florida A&M University (FAMU) Homecoming Show will air November 3 on FAMU-TV 20 at 7 p.m. The show will highlight the university’s involvement during this historic presidential election season including Michelle Obama and Jill Biden’s visit to FAMU start of the school year.
“So much of FAMU’s political activity of the past and present is unknown and this year’s show gives us the opportunity to showcase a little of it,” said Kenneth Jones, associate professor in the School of Journalism and Graphic Communication.
Highlights of special events for the Inauguration of FAMU President James H. Ammons will also air.
Broadcast journalism seniors Oldine Monestine and Markita Andrews will produce the 2008 Homecoming Show.
“The show is about what is affecting people now,” said Monestine.
Student anchors for the 2008 Homecoming Show are as follows: Benjamin Evans III; Alicia Mitchell; Donnitra Sharee Gilbert; Alexandra Dor; and Khaneshia Smith.
