TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida A&M University (FAMU) has something extra in store for those traveling to the campus for the annual Homecoming celebration scheduled from October 25 to November 2.
It is no coincidence that the Homecoming 2008 theme, “Preserving the Legacy of Excellence in a New Era” is the same theme as FAMU President James H. Ammons’ inaugural week. This year, Homecoming and the Presidential Inaugural Week will run hand-in-hand.
“Starting with the kick-off bash at FAMU Park, this homecoming will signify a new day at FAMU and commemorate a time of change at a growing institution destined for greater heights,” said Saundra R. Inge, chair of the Homecoming Committee.
The homecoming schedule includes the annual fashion show, dorm step show, comedy and talent show and Greek step show. In addition to the traditional homecoming activities, there will be the Hip-Hop forum, hosted by AllHipHop.com; a VIBE magazine block party; and the BET College Tour will visit FAMU.
