Orchesis Contemporary Dance Theatre Presents its Annual Concert
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Orchesis Contemporary Dance Theatre of Florida A&M University (FAMU) presents its annual concert in dance at Lee Hall Auditorium. Performance dates and times are Friday, February 1, and Saturday, February 2, at 7:30 p.m. in Lee Hall Auditorium.
Titled, SANKOFA, the concert will feature dance works by guest artists Millicent Johnnie, Marcus Robinson, and acclaimed singer Kendra. SANKOFA, looking back to inform the present and prepare for the future, is an evening of dance celebrating the history and legacy of Orchesis at FAMU.
General admission is $8; tickets for senior citizens and non-FAMU students are $5; FAMU students are admitted free with valid Rattler ID. Group tickets are available at a reduced price but must be purchased by January 30. Tickets are available at FAMU Athletic Ticket Office and Honey Tree Natural Foods located at 1415 Timberlane Road in Market Square.
Orchesis Contemporary Dance Theatre is committed to presenting dance that is about cultural pluralism and community empowerment. This dance organization, started more than 65 years ago, aims to provide quality dance education and performances for FAMU students, emerging artists, and the larger Tallahassee community.
