Tallahassee, FL. – All students and alumni are encouraged to attend Florida A&M University’s (FAMU) C.C. Cunningham Career Center’s Fall 2007 Career Expo on Wednesday, September 26, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Tallahassee-Leon County Civic Center. A reception is scheduled Tuesday, September 25, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Both events are free of cost.
“The expo and the reception gives the students and alumni the opportunity to network with potential employers on a formal and informal basis,” said Dolores Dean, director of the career center. “The expo officially kicks off our recruitment efforts for the rest of the semester.
Over 140 companies, such as Amtrak, Edward Jones, Google, L’Oreal, Macy’s and Merrill Lynch, will be in attendance offering full-time, part-time, co-op and internship positions. Door prizes, including laptops and iPods, will be given away.
Students and alumni interested in participating should register with the career center. Business attire, resumes and FAMU student ID is require for all expo participants.
According to Dean, of the students that utilize the services of the career center, 60 to 70 percent of them are placed in a full-time, part-time, co-op or internship position.
