FAMU professors selected to present at distinguished Oxford Round Table
Florida A&M University (FAMU) College of
Education Associate Professors Rufus Ellis and Elizabeth Davenport have been
selected to serve as presenters for the Oxford Round Table, July 29 through
August 3 in Oxford, England. Their presentation topic is titled, "School
Choice, Catholicism and African-American Academic Achievement".
Hosted by the Harris Manchester College of Oxford, the Round Table convenes to consider major issues in contemporary educational policy in the United States. Presenters are identified through several screening processes, by nomination of previous Round Table participants and recommendations from educational leaders.
DeAnna Burney, an assistant professor and director of FAMU's graduate psychology program, participated in the Oxford Round Table both in early July and last year. This year, Burney presented on the topic "The Emergency Evacuation and Reunification Transit Initiative: Helping Children and Families Recover after the Storm."
