TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida A&M University (FAMU) Board of Trustees unanimously approved the implementation of the four-day workweek, beginning Friday, May 13, 2011 through Thursday, August 4, 2011. On Friday, August 5, the university will resume its regular business hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. During this period, employees will work four 10-hour days, Monday through Thursday. The university’s daily hours of operation will be from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Exceptions to this four-day schedule will include the police department, buildings with research activities, university housing, the student health clinic and New Beginnings Childcare Center.
