TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Florida A&M University (FAMU) will host a Health Care Reform Forum at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, November 4. The forum will be located at the FAMU New Pharmacy Building, 1415 South Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. in the Blue Cross/Blue Shield Auditorium, room 103.
The forum will provide in-depth information on health care reform for the citizens of the Big Bend community, and ultimately increase their knowledge and understanding of health care options. The general public is encouraged to attend.
FAMU President James H. Ammons; Sen. Alfred “Al” Lawson, Jr.; FAMU College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences Dean Henry Lewis, PharmD; Dr. Ray Bellamy, a local physician; Dr. Joseph Webster, a local physician and proprietor of the Webster Surgical Center; Dr. Edward Holifield, local physician and consultant in private practice; and Carmen Cummings Martin, director of FAMU Office of Alumni Affairs are all expected to be in attendance.
The forum is sponsored by the FAMU School of Allied Health Sciences, College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, School of Nursing, College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Social Work, Environmental Science Institute, Institute of Public Health and the FAMU Community Health Alliance.
Free parking will be available on the corner of Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and Persia Street across from the new pharmacy building.
