FAMU to Offer Distance Learning Courses in August Florida A&M University Board of Trustees unanimously approved the one-year contract with the Tom Joyner Online Education (TJOE) for its distance-learning program. Two FAMU Alumni Serving As Chiefs-of-Staff in Congress Florida A&M University graduates Virgil A. Miller and Tasha Cole are both serving as the chiefs-of-staff for two political figures in Congress. Miller, a Palm Beach, Fla. native, works for Rep. Cedric Richmond (D-New Orleans). He says his daily routine consists of briefing the member on administrative matters, interacting with constituents, meeting with stakeholders and overseeing the overall direction of the office. FAMU Cuts Orange and Green Ribbon for the Hansel E. Tookes Sr. Student Recreation Center and Recreational Fields  Florida A&M University hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Hansel E. Tookes, Sr. Student Recreation Center and Recreational Fields. The ceremony celebrated the opening of Phase Two and Phase Three of the three-phase project.
