Florida Gov. Rick Scott recently announced the reappointment of Torey L. Alston of Fort Lauderdale to the Florida A&M University Board of Trustees. Trustees Karl White, Richard Dent and Spurgeon McWilliams were also reappointed to the BOT by the Florida Board of Governors.
T h e University is governed by the Board of Trustees which consists of thirteen members. Six trustees are appointed by the Governor and five trustees are appointed by the Board of Governors, subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate. The Presidents of the Faculty Senate and Student Government Association are elected by their bodies, and serve a one-year term. The other Trustees are appointed for staggered terms of five years. |
