Effective Summer 2013, students will need to submit a summer financial aid application, after enrolling for a minimum of 6 credit hours. The Office of Financial Aid will review students who register for the appropriate number of summer hours. Financial aid packages will be offered based on hours of enrollment and other eligibility requirements. All NEW borrowers will need to complete a new Master Promissory Note to receive summer disbursements. Please go to www.studentloans.gov. Summer Financial Aid Process - Please note the vast majority of summer financial aid requires students to enroll at least 6 credit hours. If you are registered for 3 hours in session A and 3 hours in session B your funds will not release until session B when you are enrolled half-time.
- Awarding process will begin on 4/5/2013.
- Students must view and accept their Summer award using iRattler.
- All NEW students must sign a new Master Promissory Note for the William D. Ford Direct Loan Program.
- Loan recipients must be enrolled at least half-time: Undergraduates = 6 hours; Graduates/Professionals = 3 hours; Law = 4 hours
- Grad PLUS and PLUS Loan Request/Application Forms are located under the link Forms and Publications and submitted to the Office of Financial Aid for processing.
- Awards not accepted by the student will be canceled on 7/26/2013.
- New student or students applying for financial aid for the first time at FAMU must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Florida A&M University school code is 001480.
- Summer loans will be disbursed in two installments. Students applying for summer loans must plan accordingly.
Loan Limits – Students who have already borrowed their maximum annual or aggregate Federal Stafford Loan limits prior to Summer 2013 are ineligible to receive a Federal Stafford Loan for the 2013 summer school term.

Transient Students
If you are a Transient Student please turn in the Transient form for processing of any Financial Aid. All Fees are to be paid at the host college or university by the student. Once your enrollment is verified, financial aid will be processed. New Applicants 2. Applicants must verify that Florida A&M University is listed on the Student Aid Report (SAR). The expiration date for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is June 30th.
