Box Office Information
Box Office Location
The Essential Theatre box office is located in the lobby of the first floor of Tucker Hall.
Box Office Hours
Closed on non-event days.
Week Days
Noon to 5:30 pm on the day of an event and again one hour prior to curtain.
Saturday and Sunday
One hour prior to curtain.
Forms of Payment
Cash and Checks only.

Ticket Policies
Refund and Exchange Policies
All sales are final. No Refunds or Exchanges. Refunds are only permitted for cancellation of an event.
Reservations
With the exception of subscribers, we do not hold seats or accept phone reservations. Patrons must purchase tickets at the box office window.
Children
Children over the age of 2 must have a ticket and sit in a seat. However, we do ask you to please carefully consider whether a performance is appropriate for children before planning to attend. Also, please be aware that children who are disruptive will not be allowed to remain in the theatre. Be considerate of others in the audience and the comfort of your child.
FAMU Students
Unless you are purchasing a ticket, FAMU students may only pick up tickets as early as 1 hour before the show you plan to attend. Only ONE ticket per performance will be distributed. You must present your ID at the box office in exchange for a ticket. You may not bring other ID’s to pick up tickets for friends or family members.
Senior Citizens
Any person 55 or older may purchase a senior citizen ticket.
FAMU Employees
Discounted ticket prices are offered for all FAMU employees with valid ID. Please present ID at the box office window.
Group Rates
If you are comprised of 14 or more members then you are a group! Whether you are a group of seniors, students, professionals, or friends, the Essential Theatre offers services tailored to your group’s needs.
Here are some of the benefits: - Advance bookings prior to public sale
- Discounts on most performances
- Acceptance of purchase orders
- Ability to make final payment at a later date
Public School Matinee Series
We offer special rates for K - 12 student groups and chaperones.
