Dr. Geoffrey Horn, Associate Professor of Music Theory and Music History, holds the Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees in Composition from Ohio University, the Master of Music in Music Theory from Ohio University, and the Doctor of Philosophy in Music Theory from the University of Michigan.  Before coming to Florida A&M University in 1990, he taught Music Theory and Ear Training at the University of Michigan and served on the Music Theory faculties of Ohio University and Ithaca College.  While at Florida A&M University, he has taught Music Theory, Sightsinging and Ear Training, Form and Analysis, Music History, and Applied French Horn.  He has performed extensively with the Tallahassee Community Chorus and the Tallahassee Bach Parley, and has served as Director of the Handbell Choir of the First Presbyterian Church of Tallahassee.  Outside of music, he has coached women’s fast-pitch softball and currently serves as a sports official for the United States Fastpitch Association, the Amateur Softball Association of America, the United States Specialty Sports Association, the Big Bend Sports Officials Association, the Hub City Sports Officials Association, Central Florida Umpires, the Tallahassee Volleyball Officials Association, the Amateur Athletic Union, and USA Volleyball.
