Carlos Vega is Assistant Professor of Applied Saxophone at Florida A&M University.
Dr. Vega has taught at the College and University level since 1999 with positions in Florida, Texas and Illinois. Dr. Vega has also served as an adjudicator for the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) All-State Jazz and is a regular a clinician at the Illinois Summer Youth Music (ISYM) Camp at the University of Illinois Urbana - Champaign campus since 2006.
Carlos Vega has toured extensively in the United States, Europe, South America and Africa. Carlos Vega has performed with a variety of high profile names including Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine, Arturo Sandoval, Ira Sullivan, Tito Puente, Tito Puente Jr. to name a few.
Dr. Vega is a current member of the Chicago Afro Latin Jazz Ensemble (CALJE) and trumpet legend
Doc Severinsen’s Big Band.
