Career Development TrainingThe Career Development Training Program (CDTP) was developed and designed for the employees of Florida A&M University. CDTP offers employees the opportunity to gain applicable skill-sets for professional growth and development. Information in the areas of Career Planning, Career Management and Career Development has been researched and carefully crafted by the Office of Organizational Development and Training, to serve as a resource tool for career advancement, as demonstrated in the “Gateway to Success” certification programs.
Gateway to Success consists of two (2) Certification Programs,
1. Administration & Professional (A&P) 2. University Support Personnel Services (USPS)
The certification programs consist of a core curriculum and several functional courses based on employment career path. Employees must successfully complete the certification program within a twelve (12) month time-frame. Career learning and development advisors will be assigned to each participant to facilitate and monitor their progress.
To obtain the listing of Career Development Advisors, you must navigate to Organizational Development and Training website and select “Career Learning and Development Advisor” from the menu on the right.
For available training classes and dates, select “Training Calendar” from the menu on the right. Double-click on the course to obtain detail information, such as the summary, instructor, location and objectives. Please be informed that supervisor approval is required to register for all courses.
University Support Personnel Service (USPS) Certification Courses
 This certification program is for USPS employees. Employees will complete seventeen (17) core curriculum courses and two (2) functional courses. Most courses are instructor-led and require classroom attendance; and a selected few are offered online. The course work provides a thorough, systematic approach to professional development by combining technological skills with research-based and practical techniques.
The goal of the USPS Certification Program is to incorporate the best practices in adult learning techniques with practical work experiences.

Most courses are instructor-led and require classroom attendance; and a selected few are offered online.
