Unrestricted Line (URLs) Officers

Naval Officers who are qualified to command units, ships, or aviation squadrons.

 

Submarine Warfare

The Navy's oldest warfare community is submarines. Submarine Warfare can look forward to a challenging career as a member of an elite, technically advanced, multi-mission community. Surface Warfare

Naval Aviator

Naval Aviation is renowned for the demands it places upon its flyers. The skills and concentration required to land a high-performance jet on board an aircraft carrier deck pitching in the black of night, or to track a submarine while flying at only a few feet above stormy seas, are not only linked to a solid academic background or to top physical conditioning. Naval Special Warfare Officer

The Special Warfare Officer concentrates on the development of skills in the areas of unconventional warfare, counterinsurgency, coastal and riven interdiction, and tactical intelligence collection. Civil Engineering Corps

Civil Engineer Corps (CEC) officers are the Navy's uniformed professional engineers and architects. They are responsible for executing and managing the planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of the Navy's shore facilities. Engineering Duty Officer

Engineering Duty (ED) Officers are the technical and business leaders of the Navy. We are a unique cadre (~800) of highly motivated Naval officers with a broad continuum of operational(fleet) experience and engineering expertise. Information Warfare

Information Warfare (IW) is a Restricted Line community comprising approximately 900 officers. IW officers (IWO) are the Navy’s Information Warriors who maintain expertise in all facets of Information Operations (IO), to include traditional cryptology, C2 and space systems.
