USDA Ag Outlook Forum - Write a Winning Essay, Travel to Washington, D.C.

Would you like to attend USDA's 2012 Agricultural Outlook Forum in Washington DC -- all expenses paid?

USDA Agricultural Outlook Forum Student Diversity Program Seeks FAMU Student Participation for the 2012 Event. The November 7 deadline is fast approaching!  Write an essay on "Agriculture as a Career," and submit it to your campus USDA 1890 Program Liaison and you could be on your way to an all-expense paid trip to Washington, D.C., in February.

Essays are due to the University's USDA 1890 Program Liaison by November 2nd for review and submission by FAMU to the USDA by November 7, 2011. 

If chosen, please note, students will arrive in Washington D.C, February 21, 2012, and return home February 24, 2012.

Florida A&M University students interested in attending should submit a typed essay related to the importance of agriculture by November 2, 2011, to:  Cynthia M. Portalatin, USDA 1890 Program Liaison, at Rm 217 S. Perry Paige Bldg, or email to cynthia.portalatin@famu.edu.

The Ag Outlook Forum provides diverse students with a unique opportunity to meet agricultural producers, policy makers, business, government, and industry leaders, as well as to exchange ideas and discuss timely issues at the forefront of America's agriculture.

The 2012 Agricultural Outlook Forum will be held February 23-24 in Arlington, Virginia, at the Crystal Gateway Marriott Hotel. USDA's World Agricultural Outlook Board, the USDA / 1890 Program Office, and the Agricultural Research Service (ARS) will host an introductory USDA briefing and discussion of internships and career opportunities on February 21. On February 22, students will tour USDA's Henry A. Wallace Beltsville Agricultural Research Center.
