Sponsorship

Dear Sponsor,

The National Goat Consortium will be holding the 3rd National Goat Conference (NGC) in 2018. The conference will be hosted by Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, Alabama on September 16 - 18, 2018. The National Goat Consortium is an 1890 land-grant initiative that has a membership of 1890 administrators, faculty and staff, community based organizations, farmers and a state agency. The consortium held the first NGC at Florida A&M University in 2010 and the second conference was hosted by North Carolina A&T University in 2013. Both conferences were a tremendous success with over 400 participants in attendance at each event. The purpose of the NGC was to address critical issues facing this nation’s goat industry. To address this concern, educational opportunities were provided for farmers, agricultural professionals and students across the U.S. Producers from the Caribbean also attended both events.

In 2018, Tuskegee University will continue to provide both classroom and hands-on activities on a variety of topic areas related to goat production, product development, parasite management, and marketing. Since, many of 1890 clientele are limited resource farmers, we have always offered registration and travel scholarships to farmers and agricultural professionals if available. The first two conferences were successful due to the gracious financial support provided by our sponsors. In 2010 and 2013 Southern Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SSARE) contributed nearly $165,000 and the 1890 institutions also donated over $50,000 for each conference. The contributions from SSARE, 1890 institutions, exhibitors and vendors allowed many farmers, students, extension agents and other agricultural professionals to attend the events.

With this letter, we are humbly requesting financial support from your institution to help pay for travel and registration fees for farmers, students and agricultural professionals through the organized efforts of the 1890 universities. Your sponsorship will also provide financial support for paying for publication costs, for public relations activities, and facilities and equipment rentals. Therefore, we are excited about the possibilities of your organization joining us in this important endeavor, and we also look forward to your response. Information on sponship levels are listed below.
