About Agronomy

The Agronomy program is an undergraduate major under the Bachelor of Agricultural Sciences degree in the College of Agriculture and Food Sciences at Florida A&M University. This major prepares our students for careers in production agriculture with emphasis in plant, soil and water sciences.

Because of the unique nature of this program, our students find employment with state and federal agencies (e.g. Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Florida Department of Environmental Protection, United States Department of Agriculture, US-Forest Service, Natural Resource Conservation Service) as well as the private sector (e.g. Monsanto, Pioneer, Coors).

Feeding the world by understanding the science of plants, soil and water and the application of same to production agriculture is our overarching goal.
