Fovea (pl., foveae), a region of cuticle with fine granulation in contrast to adjacent areas.

Mucro:

Mucro (pl., mucrones), a short, sharp, pointed process.

Pronotal depression:

Depression on the pronotum.

Pronotum:

The upper and dorsal part of the prothorax.

Prothoracic:

Of or pertaining to the prothorax.

Prothorax;

The first thoracic segment, bearing the anterior legs but no wings.

Pygidium:

Pygidium (pl., pygidia), the tergum of the last visible segment of the abdomen.

Scale:

A flat unicellular outgrowth of the body wall of insect.

Seta:

Seta (pl., setae), a sclerotized hairlike projection of cuticle.

Spiclule:

A small needle like spine.

Tergum:

Tergum (pl., terga), the upper or dorsal surface of any body segment of an insect.

Tubercle:

A small knoblike or rounded protuberance.

Vestiture:

The general surface covering comprised of cuticular projections, e.g., scales, setae, or spicules, tubercles.
