The Southern Green Stinkbug, Nezara viridula is a serious polyphagous pest of numerous economically important crops throughout the world. The species was collected from various locations in Tallahassee, Florida using insect collecting nets and hand picking from Florida A&M Quincy Farm, FAMU Community Garden, Crescent Moon Farm and Turkey Hill Farm. The species has been successfully reared under the laboratory and greenhouse conditions since the summer 2009. To manage this pest effectively environment friendly control measures are urgently needed. We have initiated a study on one of the mycopathogens, Beauveria bassiana to control this pest. In this regard, we have developed a protocol to test virulence of its different isolates native to the United States. In addition, a culture of the strain B. bassiana “ARSEF 5973” was successfully developed in 21 days at 27ºC. Our study will assess the lethal and sublethal effects of this and other strains (ARSEF 5977, 5988, 3086, and 416) of B. bassiana against the immature and mature stages of the N. viridula
