ABSTRACT
Now, more than ever before, the use of renewable energy is critical to the well being of our planet. While most renewable energy projects and production is large-scale, renewable technologies are also suited to smaller applications, where energy is often crucial in human development.This research focuses on the use of green energy in autonomous vehicles. Photovoltaics, refers to converting sunlight directly into electricity. The infamous limitation of most electronic devices in this age is their battery life and often large energy consumption. Most appliances are connected to a large grid as their source of electrical power. With the use of solar power and supercapacitors as a substitution for this restrictive energy structure many other possibilities are made viable by using the Sun’s readily available and easily accessible energy. Using this system it is possible to store and provide usable power for various electronic applications. Once used almost exclusively in space, photovoltaic modules are used more and more in less exotic ways. Supercapacitors provide a new venue of energy storage capabilities. The charge characteristics are similar to those of an electrochemical battery. The initial charge is very rapid which allows for more energy to be stored more quickly for immediate use.
